Rikki Gonzalez, 2020 CSF Seymour Award Central Region Finalist

My name is Rikki Gonzalez, I am a senior at Redwood High School. I am currently serving as the 2019-2020 president of Redwood’s CSF club. CSF has allowed me to be a part of fostering a culture of academic excellence as well as community involvement. As far back as I can remember, the medical field has always been intriguing to me because of my inclination to help others combined with my love for science. Given this passion, my career goal is to be an anesthesiologist. I am honored to have received this scholarship, thank you to the committee for

Madelyn Fernandes, 2020 CSF Seymour Award Central Region Finalist

I am the daughter of Frank and Diane Fernandes. I grew up in agriculture and have a passion for the industry. Throughout my high school career I have been involved in clubs such as CSF, SOPAS, and FFA. They have all prepared me in my leadership, public speaking, and communication skills for my future career as an agriculture teacher. Through these programs I have also been able to volunteer for community service projects give back to my amazing community. Outside of school I’m involved in my church’s youth program, saYes, and I am currently California’s District 9 Alternate Dairy Princess. I have a huge passion for animals, plants, and working with others especially children which is why I hope to use my talents and experience to teach future generations about the importance of the agriculture industry.

Catherine Entenman, 2020 CSF Seymour Award Central Region Finalist

Catherine’s passion for helping others and giving back has made her pursue Human Biology at university in the fall.

Catherine Entenman is a senior at Porterville High School. She loves learning, reading, sports, playing her instrument, traveling, painting, doing community service, and spending time with her friends and family. When not involved in giving back to the community through raising awareness for numerous diseases or putting together bags for the homeless, Catherine works diligently to achieve her dreams of one day of having a doctoral degree in dental medicine. She plans to pursue human biology at UC San Diego in the fall.

Chiara Curnow, 2020 CSF Seymour Award South Region Finalist

My name is Chiara Curnow and I am a senior at Fallbrook High School. I love to stay active through my high school’s dance, track & field, and dive teams. I have found my passion for teaching through volunteering as a Sunday School teacher, teaching swim and dive lessons over the summer as a lifeguard, and frequent trips to Ensenada, Mexico building loft houses for struggling families. I will attend a four-year university in the fall to study biology in hopes of becoming a science teacher or professor.

Nancy Campos Ledezma, 2020 CSF Seymour Award Central Region Finalist

My name is Nancy Campos Ledezma. I have been an active member of CSF, as well as other clubs such as AVID, Spanish, Key Club, and Link Crew, throughout all my years of high school. I am also a sprinter and pole vaulter on my school’s Track and Field team. As an honor roll student, I have taken a total of 10 AP classes and was selected as this year’s World Language Student of the Year by the World Languages Department. Aside from school, I spend much of my time volunteering at local events around the community as well as being a regular volunteer with Family HealthCare Network. Next year, I will be attending Fresno State as a Smittcamp Family Honors Program scholar, where I plan to pursue a career in the medical field.

Jenna Barba, 2020 CSF Seymour Award North Region Finalist

My name is Jenna and I love to serve my community and help people. But, I am also a runner and do cross country and track. After high school I am planning on attending Arizona State University to study Human Resources and data analytics. I will also be a part of their Next Generation a Service Corps.
