Although I was born in Fresno, California, I have lived in Rancho Mirage for most of my life. I attend Palm Valley School; there, I’ve been heavily involved in CSF and Student United Way, a community service club that I lead. Starting my freshman year, I began tutoring people, both at the Boys and Girls Club and at my school’s elementary school, and have learned that I really enjoy it. I’m also a big outdoors person and have a particular liking for hiking and camping. Sports-wise, I play soccer, ride horses, and run track. In the fall, I will be attending Middlebury College in Vermont, where I plan to study international relations. Lastly, I’m a bit of a language geek – I love learning new languages. I currently speak English and German and am learning Spanish; in college I hope to study Arabic.

Sydney was nominated for this prestigious award by Chapter 1234 Adviser Susie Zachik. Roger Adams is Principal at Palm Valley School in Rancho Mirage.
