CSF Advisers
Sign Up to Read for the Seymour Awards

February 21-22, 2026, Saturday and Sunday.

California Scholarship Federation logoThe CSF Seymour Committee needs a few more CSF advisers to read Seymour Award nominations from this weekend.

Our list of volunteers is not long enough!
More readers will make the work lighter.

Please consider making this contribution to CSF and in the process you will learn a lot about the Seymour Awards selection process.

  • Reading is done from the comfort and privacy of a place of your choice.
If you are interested and available, here are some details about the reading.
Applications are due on February 18th at 6:00PM. Our CSF IT person Patricia Gill, will process the applications and place them in a digital folder for each region. Depending on the amount of applications received, they should be shared to us by Friday, February 20th. All applications must be read and 10 finalists chosen for each region by Sunday, February 22nd. Each reader will be asked to read for one region’s applications. This will not be the region you teach in. Last year the number of applications per region ranged from 25-35.
  • A Seymour Committee member will serve as the Lead person and will contact all readers prior to that weekend with tips and suggestions for how to read the applications and what CSF is looking for when choosing finalists.
  • Each reader will read all of the applications for the chosen region, make notes and choose your top 10 finalists. Then, through a series of voting, your small reading group will choose the 10 students. The Lead Seymour Committee member will then forward this information to Patricia, and your job is done.
