Pauline Vartany, 2020 CSF Seymour Award South Central Region Finalist

I am a student at West Ranch High School who values service both on and off campus. From volunteering at my local hospital and environmental organizations to leading experiments with elementary school students, I love staying involved in my community in a way that encourages optimism, kindness, and future leaders in community service. In my free time, I enjoy painting, playing classical piano, and learning to bake Armenian pastries with my family.

I am a senior at Bellflower High school and have been a part of the California Scholarship Federation for the past 4 years. Currently, I am the president of the CSF club at my school.

My greatest talent is making a perfect bowl of rice and I will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall for Microbiology!

Libbe Phan, 2020 CSF Seymour Award South Region Finalist

Libbe Phan is a high school senior from Woodbridge High School. She has spent her four years focusing on doing her best academically, serving her community, and participating in a variety of extracurriculars. Some of her accomplishments include being the Girls Inc. National Lucille Miller recipient, serving as Orange County’s voice on Girls Inc.’s National Teen Advocacy Board, creating Humankind Zine (a digital magazine), being featured in Scholastic Choices’ February 2020 issue, and one of Woodbridge High School’s Youth of the Month awardees. Although she has not decided which college/university she will be attending yet, she hopes to study business administration with a possible double major or minor in film, graphic design, or psychology. Phan hopes to utilize her college education to work in creative marketing/advertising and start a mental health non-profit.
