Bryce HIlton, 2020 CSF Seymour Award Central Coast Region Finalist

I am so honored to be recognized as a Seymour Award finalist! I spend much of my time playing basketball, working on the leadership program’s events at my high school, participating in activities with my Boy Scout troop, camping, and fishing. Next year, I will be attending Harvard.

Lea Thomas, 2020 CSF Seymour Award North Region Finalist

Lea Thomas is a senior at Ponderosa High School. She loves agriculture, animals, her friends and family, as well as putting a smile on others’ faces! She is an active FFA member and officer, a band student, freshman orientation leader, tutor, and CSF officer. Lea plans on attending Cal Poly SLO in the fall to major in Animal Science and minor in Agricultural Leadership.

Juliana Luna, 2020 CSF Seymour Award North Region Finalist

Juliana Luna is a graduating Senior at Horizon Charter Schools in Lincoln, California. She is thrilled to be attending her dream school, Columbia University in New York this fall. Juliana will be studying Creative Writing and Human Rights. She loves strong black coffee, elegantly crafted poetry, and blasting Beatles music.

Juliana was nominated for this prestigious award by Chapter 1226 Adviser Melora Klusnik. Kelly Collins is Principal at Horizon Charter School in the Western Placer Unified School District.

Payten Hobbs, 2020 CSF Seymour Award Central Region Finalist

When I am not working on homework or studying, I enjoy volunteering at my local animal shelter, working out, and hanging out with friends. After high school, I plan on attending Fresno State as a recipient of the Smittcamp Family Honors College. I would like to Major in Nursing and I have a dream to be either an Oncology or Pediatric Nurse when I graduate from college. Eventually, I would like to get a Master’s degree and become a Nurse Anesthetist.

Drake Goodman, 2020 CSF Seymour Award Central Coast Region Finalist

Drake Goodman is a senior at Redwood High School. He is an avid public speaker, entrepreneur, and public servant. Other than interning for gubernatorial campaigns and state representatives as well as winning awards in international business competitions, he has founded and runs Recycle for Africa, a nonprofit to benefit the education of children in Tanzania and Kenya, and founded the largest junior chapter of Dec My Room in the country, a nonprofit that decorates pediatric hospital rooms. He was Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Class President, Editor-in-Chief of his school newspaper, Mock Trial President, and Varsity Baseball Team Captain. He will pursue his interests in business and politics by attending the University of Pennsylvania next year under the Huntsman Program, where he will receive a dual degree in business from Wharton and international studies.

Jesse Goodman, 2020 CSF Seymour Award Central Coast Region Finalist

Jesse Dugan Goodman is a senior at Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California. He loves spending time outdoors, playing water polo, and being entertained by his pets. He hopes to continue community service through and beyond college while always focusing on giving back. Jesse plans on attending University of California Davis to study Economics or Chapman University as an undeclared major.

Jesse was nominated for this prestigious award by his former Chemistry teacher and Foothill Chapter 951 Advisor Lavina Lobo. Sebastian Bull is Principal of Foothill High School in Pleasanton Unified School District.
